Wallace National Junior Piano Competition 2018

Venue: The University of Auckland's School of Music  |  6 Symonds Street, Auckland

The biennial Wallace National Junior Piano Competition gives New Zealand pre-tertiary pianists the opportunity to compete for prizes totalling over $4000.  Competitors perform a 20 minute recital programme of their choice.  At least three musical periods must be included.

Six competitors are selected by the adjudicators to compete in the Competition Final at 7pm Saturday (14 July) with results announced and prizes presented following the 5pm Sunday (15 July) recital.

PRIZES:  1st $2,000  |  2nd $1000  |  3rd $500  |  Other finalists $200
Best Performance of a Classical Sonata $500 (donated by IRMT Auckland Branch)
Best Performance of a New Zealand Composition $250 (donated by SOUNZ)

10 June - No further programme changes accepted
10 June - Competition Acceptance fee of $50 paid
